Gingerly, Magnum picked up Sgt. Braddick’s cell phone to get a better look at the photo. The dead girl had dark hair.  Both her eyes were blackened, one swollen shut, the other, a narrow slit gazing into nothingness. 

    A prickle began at the back of Magnum's neck. She felt flushed. Could it be? She had only met the girl once, and prayed that she was wrong.

     “You know her?” Braddick prodded.
     “It might be Aysu,”  Magnum said, weakly.
      She looked away from the photo and wondered what sort of a religion approved the murder of children and called it honor.
    First came this Muslim honor killing and then the twisted crimes of a Bible Thumper’s daughter,

     Magnum begins to question the morality of religions in general.
